Dosage & Administration
Recommended Dosage:
Adults & Adolescents (≥12 years):
500 mg once daily for 3-5 days (standard infections).
1000 mg single dose for STDs (Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, etc.).
Pediatric Dosage (For Suspension Formulations):
10 mg/kg on Day 1, followed by 5 mg/kg once daily for the next 4 days.
Administration Guidelines:
Take with or without food – Best absorbed on an empty stomach.
Shake Suspension Well Before Use – Ensures uniform drug distribution.
Swallow whole with water – Do not chew or crush tablets.
Complete Full Course – To prevent antibiotic resistance.
Precautions & Warnings
Not Recommended for Patients Allergic to Macrolides – Risk of hypersensitivity reactions.
Use with Caution in Liver & Kidney Disease – Dose adjustment may be required.
