D-CIN contains Amikacin, a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic designed to treat serious bacterial infections caused by resistant Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella, Proteus, and E. coli. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to rapid bacterial destruction.

 Available Strengths:
 100 – Amikacin 100 mg / 2 ml vial
 250 – Amikacin 250 mg / 2 ml vial
 500 – Amikacin 500 mg / 2 ml vial

Why Choose D-CIN?

Highly Effective Against Multidrug-Resistant Infections – Ideal for treating resistant Gram-negative bacteria.
Fast-Acting & Bactericidal – Kills bacteria at the source, ensuring rapid symptom relief.
Minimal Risk of Resistance – Maintains efficacy against extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) producing bacteria.
Suitable for Nosocomial & ICU Infections – Effective for hospital-acquired pneumonia, septicemia, and post-surgical infections.
Once or Twice Daily Dosing – Simplifies administration with higher peak serum concentrations.

Indications

Respiratory Tract Infections – Hospital-acquired pneumonia, ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), bronchopneumonia.
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) – Complicated & drug-resistant UTIs, pyelonephritis.
Septicemia & Bacteremia – Bloodstream infections caused by Gram-negative pathogens.
 Intra-Abdominal Infections – Peritonitis, post-surgical infections.
Skin & Soft Tissue Infections – Cellulitis, diabetic foot infections, infected burns.
Bone & Joint Infections – Osteomyelitis, septic arthritis.
Gynecological Infections – Pelvic inflammatory disease, postpartum infections.

Dosage & Administration

 Recommended Dosage:

 Adults & Adolescents (≥12 years):
15 mg/kg/day IV/IM, divided into once daily or twice daily doses.

 Neonates & Pediatric Patients:
10 mg/kg as an initial dose, followed by 7.5 mg/kg every 12 hours.

 Severe Infections (ICU/Septic Patients):
Higher doses may be required under medical supervision.

 Administration Guidelines:
Intramuscular (IM) Injection: Administer deep into the muscle for effective absorption.
Intravenous (IV) Infusion: Dilute with normal saline or dextrose solution and infuse slowly over 30-60 minutes.
Monitor Kidney Function – Adjust dose in renal impairment.
Complete Full Course – To prevent antibiotic resistance and recurrence.

Precautions & Warnings

Not Recommended for Patients with Aminoglycoside Allergy – Risk of severe hypersensitivity reactions.
Use with Caution in Kidney & Hearing Impairment – Amikacin can cause nephrotoxicity (kidney damage) and ototoxicity (hearing loss).
Monitor Blood Levels in Critically Ill Patients – To prevent toxicity and ensure therapeutic efficacy.
Avoid Concurrent Use with Other Nephrotoxic Drugs – Such as vancomycin, amphotericin B, or loop diuretics.
Pregnancy & Lactation – Use only if the benefits outweigh the risks.

Seek immediate medical attention for signs of allergic reactions, kidney dysfunction, or hearing loss.
